Lower Broadway reopens to two-way traffic in downtown San Antonio

Project expected to be completed this summer

SAN ANTONIO – The last remaining major road closures along Lower Broadway in downtown San Antonio reopened this week.

Two-way traffic will be maintained for the rest of the 2017 Bond project, which is scheduled for completion this summer, a news release said.

There will be one to two days of rolling closures toward the end of the project while crews pour the final two inches of asphalt. Other remaining work includes sidewalks, landscaping, and pavement striping.

The reopened sections include:

  • Broadway from Pecan Street to 4th Street, including the intersections of Broadway & Pecan Street and Broadway & 3rd Street
  • Broadway from McCullough Avenue to 6th Street, including the intersection of Broadway & McCullough Avenue

The Fiesta parade route crosses Broadway at Brooklyn. The intersection was already open to traffic, but crews are opening up sidewalks for pedestrians in this area.

All businesses remain open and accessible.
